For the POC Pinoy LGBT: Queer within the media series 1 with “Si T-Bird at sila”

Life became so busy the past weeks so I wasn’t able to post my stuff anywhere. So here’s some catching up.

Last July, I started a three-part series on “Queer within the media” for the Philippine Online Chronicles’ Pinoy LGBT channel. And since we still can’t directly post links on FB, this redirect.

Lots of things happened within the queerdom and local media that I though of doing this kind of reactionary series. The biggest chikahan is, of course, the National Artist controversy of PNoy and Nora Aunor. This piece is my reaction to it, somehow tying it to an identity that she once played as part of our rainbow community.

Here’s an excerpt:

Yes, we fully support the move to have Ate Guy become a National Artist. Government, get going.
